The club started in 2004 from a bulletin posted at a local grocery store asking for gardeners interested in having some informal get togethers about gardening in general.
From a small group of 8-10 people, the club has grown to 25-30 members.
Meetings are held at members' homes throughout the summer and The Village Tea and Coffee Co. in Fort Langley is providing a meeting place for winter meetings.
In the past we have had plant sales in the Spring and Fall, but found its mainly members who buy from one another so we now incorporate perennial plant swaps in some of our meetings.
Last September we hosted a community event with Brian Minter as our guest speaker. This evening was a great success with 180 people attending. We received very positive feedback from attendees. Donations have been made to community projects from the proceeds.
It is the club members' wish at this time to remain a samll informal club and the club has decided to cap membership at 30 members.
