Club Profile

Our club has a membership of just under 60 with an average turnout to meetings of about 35.

The club meets at the Arts Center on the fourth Tuesday of the month for eight months and social gatherings are scheduled for the other two months.

The objective of our club is the promotion of horticulture and floriculture and the passing on of such information. The floriculture is promoted through mini Flower Shows at each meeting and a Flower Show for the community in June. We are lucky to have a couple of members who are able to instruct us on Floral Art.

Our community efforts also include support of Xerendipity and a Science Center project called "Landed Learning". Members of the club are partnered with students from St. James School for a gardening project. Our members enjoy working with the young people who are quite amazedby the vegetables they get to grow and eat.

We are affiliated with two larger groups. One being the Southern Interior Horticultural Association which is an association of garden clubs in the Okanagan and Thompson Valleys. The main objective is the exchange of club information and making gardening contacts up and down the valley.
