The Society meets at 7:30 pm on the second Tuesday of each month expect January at the Centennial Lodge, Queen's Park (entrance at 1st Street and 3rd Avenue) in New Westminster, BC.

Big plant sale in May.
Established in 1934, the NWHS is a community-based club of approximately 150 members. Its purpose is to provide members with an environment to learn about gardening through monthly meetings, workshops and outings and one-on-one conversations with fellow members.
Membership is currently $10 a year. We welcome visitors to our meetings; our drop-in fee is $2.00. However, our October and December meetings (Silent Auction and Christmas party, respectively) are member-only meetings.
Besides our monthly meetings we have the following annual events: Plant Sale (last year we sold 10,000 plants, all donated by members) in May, Garden Tour and Picnic in July, Queensborough Fall Fair in September where we have a large booth and Christmas crafts in November and December when we make all the raffle prizes (50-80) for our Christmas party raffle.
Our outings and workshops change from year to year depending on requests, availability and manpower. Past outings have been to specialty nurseries, YWCA rooftop food garden and Minter Gardens. Past workshops have been tool sharpening, pruning and stepping stone making
