The Chilliwack Garden Club has a continuous history of meeting every month for the past 61 years. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm except January, July and August. Meeting location is Cooke’s Presbyterian Church, 45825 Wellington St., Chilliwack.
A monthly newsletter is sent to each member which lists upcoming events, bus trips, open gardens, and shows and lists the scheduled speaker for the next meeting. It also includes the Grow and Show schedule, and growing tips.
Grow and Show - a show of seasonal cut flowers, plants, produce and floral arrangments. A schedule appears in the monthly Newsletter. Never be afraid to enter the shows. We are all amateur gardeners and 'winning' for us is more luck than judgement. The top 5 point earners are recognized at the end of the year. Constructive views by experienced judges to assist members with 'tips' on showing.
Special Events - trophies are awarded at the Spring Flower Show, June Rose and Flower Show and the Fall Show for winning entries.
Additional Activities: Chartered bus trips to public gardens or parks in the Lower Mainland; plant sales; open gardens (members open their gardens for viewing by the club).
