The Armstrong and District Garden Club was established in 1927. The purpose of our club is to promote the advancement of floriculture and horticulture, to act as a means for distribution and dissemination of flower seeds, plants, shrubs and bulbs and to study all subjects of interest to the Club through papers and lectures. We also promote interest among young people.
Some activities of the Armstrong and District Garden Club include the Spring Plant Sale, planting flower boxes along the railway tracks in the City of Armstrong, summer BBQ with other garden clubs in the area, and of course, our Potluck Christmas party that wraps up our year. We also sponsor prizes at the IPE.
We are a friendly club of men and women with a common interest in plants and gardens. We usually have a guest speaker or a demonstration about a topic of interest. There is always something new and interesting to explore in the gardening world!
Our meetings are fun and informative. Every meeting has a draw for great door prizes and another for a member who wears their nametag. Members also bring in plants, seeds, etc that are free for members who wish to have them.
If you have an interest in gardening, we would like to invite you to join us. Membership fees are $10 per year.
